Art can be a powerful tool to strengthen young people’s voices especially when they are members of undeprivileged communities. In 2025 with the support of Lions Club Palermo Leoni and Fondazione Mediolanum, we created an art workshop for young people supported by Ufficio Servizio Sociale Minorile, in Palermo. 20 young people took part in the project and they explored paintings, creative writings and theater.
Participants also created an original podcast dedicated to their lives, in which they openly talk about the criminal system and how economical and social differences affect any individual since his or her birth. Their voices are such a powerful testimony of how deep inequality is in our society and how important social support is when you, as a young person get in trouble.
